Diyas and Flowers!!!

As part of the Kartika Pournami Celebrations, we have decorated the Rangoli with diyas and flowers. Here are the snaps.

Puligundu, Chittoor

Though we didnt have time to trek this Rock(Gundu) called Puligundu which has the temples for Lord Shiva (called as Puligundeshwer), Ayyappa..etc on top, got some quick snaps of it and information from the villager.This place is around 20kms away from Chittor town near to Penumuru. This rock is about 1000 feet high and cracks through which there's a way to trek to the top.

Gurudongmar Lake - SIKKIM

Here are some of my Sikkim trip snaps covering Gurudongmer lake, which is at 17100 feet above the sea level.Its frozen and the temperatue was around -10C when we visted in the month of April! Mercury will drop to -40 or so in the winter.Permissions/access to this lake is strictly under the control of indian army since its very near to the China Border. Nevertheless, its one of the beautiful places and must see in Sikkim.

Rhododendron flowers!!

Rhododendron flowers, you'll find them in various colors/species in every nuke and corner of the sikkim state, especially in the high altitudes like Lachen, you'll get to see many varities in one place. During the peak season which is during april-may in Sikkim, they'll be in full bloom to mesmerize you with their colors.

The stretch from Lachung to Yumthang valley has many varities of these species, when they are in full bloom, you'll definitely enjoy this ride along with the picturesque view of the Yumthang valley.

There's a annual Rhododendron festival during this season depicting all the varieties and other details about these flowers. You can also get more info about these flowers at WIKI

Snow Peaks of Sikkim

Here's a glipse to the snow peaks of the sikkim, we came across these on the way to Gurudongmer lake which is 17100 feet above the sea level.
